Our Process

clocked.tech identifies products spotted in film and television using a research-based process. Every identification is assigned one of three confidence ratings that reflect how certain we are of the match.

Confidence ratings

Verified

Confirmed by a primary source: the brand, the production, or official materials. The strongest claim we make.

Likely

The visual evidence says it's this exact item: colorway, geometry, details. But no primary source has confirmed it yet. We publish what we see and say what we haven't proven.

Closest match

Some things on screen can't be pinned to an exact model. Custom pieces, discontinued variants, items the camera never shows clearly. When that happens, we identify the closest thing that exists and say so plainly on the product page itself: which detail matches, and which one doesn't, in one plain sentence. Every closest match is a standing invitation: if you have a primary source that proves the exact item, we want it.

Ratings aren't permanent. Entries move up when better evidence arrives, and the update date on every entry shows when.

How we identify products

Every identification is reviewed by a person who watched the scene, not generated automatically. Image recognition might point us in a direction — it's never the final word.

Corrections

We get things wrong. When we do, we fix it, update the confidence rating, and note the correction on the product page. If you have sourced information that contradicts an identification on this site, contact us. We take corrections seriously and respond to every credible challenge.

Product placement vs. independent selection

Where we know whether a product was commercially placed or independently selected by a production, we say so. This context matters for readers and for brands. We document it when we have it and acknowledge when we don't.

Availability

We note whether a product is currently in stock, out of stock, or discontinued at the time of writing. Availability changes. If something listed as in stock is no longer available, let us know and we will update it.
